The Greatest Gift

Christmas, Hanukkah and other major religions celebrate the holiday season with the giving of gifts.  The Gospel of Matthew describes a visit from three wise men giving gifts to Jesus. They bought brought frankincense, a Jewish perfume, gold, and myrrh.

The Gospel of Matthew, as it is written, might have you believe that the wise man showed for the party in the manger for Jesus’ birth.  This was not a live CNN event!

The Gospel of Matthew was actually written 65 years after Jesus birth. The three wise men took nearly a year to learn about, find Jesus, and present him with their gifts.  They gave an entire year of their life for their gift.

Each day, you have 86,400 seconds of time that you can give.  Time is the greatest gift anyone can give it.  The cost? Absolutely nothing.

Celebrate your holiday season by giving the greatest gift: TIME.

PUT DOWN YOUR SMART PHONE, TURN OFF YOUR TABLET, THE XBOX, AND YOUR 60-INCH INTERNET-READY FLATSCREEN TV.

Spend time talking, listening, laughing and loving the people in your life.  They love you and help you make a difference in what you do, which allows you to make a difference in their life and the lives of others.

Technology can have a place in your life, and just when you think that teenager doesn’t know how to appreciate the spirit of Christmas, you can be surprised.

God bless and have a safe, happy holiday.
