Thanksgiving a time for Travel, Togetherness, Turkey, and Tension.   Thanksgiving is supposed to be about gratitude and not the over-amplified announcement that Christmas and Hanukah are coming! Black Friday sales started last Monday.

Rather than continue whining about the gross commercialism that we experience every day I want to stop the madness.

I am grateful.

Such a simple statement.  Usually, there is a prepositional statement after telling the reader or listener what you are grateful about.  I have many to be grateful for and much like an Oscar winner, where the orchestra is beginning to play, I will be respectful of our time together this morning and tell those people in person.

In my opinion, we live a life of joy, abundance, and thankfulness for our family, friends and office family that lasts from Thanksgiving until we arrive back into reality around January 5.  Then the tone of gratefulness begins to slip away like a New Year’s resolution that was taken moments after the clock struck twelve and the champagne count hit six.

I encourage you to find a place over the next week where you can be in your own space and take a moment to think about living a grateful life.  I have no doubt that the feelings of goodness and love will emerge in that moment if you allow them to be present.

Lori Darley, outstanding woman, leader, friend and author of Dancing Naked: Claiming Your Power as a Conscious Leader has an outstanding way of thinking that will impact your life.  Said simply “Are having generous or stingy thinking?”

I challenge you to be the pebble that is dropped into the pond and creates a ripple of gratefulness and gratitude across the waters of your life even in the midst of too much Travel, Togetherness, Turkey and Tension
